CASA Extracurricular Teachers

Theresa Dean

Elementary Art Director

I am a life-long artist who has found a home in the Montessori community. There is nothing better than being able to give children the tools they need to express their own creativity. Much of the joy in painting and drawing stems from my love of all things “outdoors.” If only my art reflected the beauty that I have seen on my annual treks to America's great National Parks.

I love CASA for the warm, supportive environment. I feel there are no limits to what I can do in my music classes! The children surprise me every day with their musical skills and their creative and joyful participation.

I enjoy working with young children as I have twin girls who are currently Juniors in High School. My youngest child spent his formative years at CASA. He is currently in 7th Grade. I was born in South America and grew up in Vancouver Canada, where I received my degree in International Relations. In 1995 my husband and I moved to the United States. My hobbies are running, biking, yoga and taking walks with our dogs.

Stay & Play Coordinator / After School Activities Director

I have been working with kids many years and they bring me much joy! I am so excited to be in the Montessori field now and am always re-defining how to make after-school at CASA a fun and rewarding experience.

After School Activities Coordinator

My inspiration for teaching was my mother. Encouraging independence in me, she taught me all the way through high school. Growing up I loved the idea of teaching and understanding the influence a teacher has on the student, made me passionate. Montessori was the perfect fit for me. I love to see children's independence flourish before my eyes.
